Course Related FAQs
How are the courses delivered?
All of our courses are entirely self-led and online, so you won’t have to attend classes or be available at specific times. You have the freedom to log in and work through the course whenever suits you, and complete as much work at a time as you would like.
You’ll be expected to keep up to the deadlines set throughout your course, however we recommend only a minimum of 2-2.5 hours a week to keep on top of these. We all have different home and work lives, and different styles of learning, so our courses are perfect to suit around your schedule!
How much time do I need to commit?
Our courses can vary in length, our shortest courses taking 10 hours to complete over 5 weeks and our longest courses taking 50 hours to complete over 20 weeks. The more hours the course adds up, the more weeks you’ll be given to complete so don’t panic about having to complete a longer course in a short time frame! For every 5 hours of learning (1 unit), you’ll be granted 2 weeks to complete, and they’ll be set deadlines at every 2 weeks to upload that 5 hours worth of learning.
We recommend committing at least 2-2.5 hours a week to the course to keep up with your target deadlines, but you’d be welcome to complete before the final deadline if you were keener and got through your course faster.
What does the learning look like once I’m on course?
All of our courses are delivered via an online learning platform (this platform varies depending on our training providers and your course choice) and you’ll be given access to your learning materials for the course as you start. The learning materials include reading workbooks, PowerPoint style presentations and videos, and you’ll then answer questions based off the learning resources as a comprehension exercise. You’ll be expected to write a few sentences or a short paragraph to show your understanding, and you’ll receive feedback from your tutor on your answers.
What dates do the courses start/run from?
As all of our courses are completed online and are self-led, the course is ready to start whenever you are! We advise to expect up to 48 hours from completing your enrolment to starting your course, so we recommend only completing your enrolment once you are ready to begin as once you’re an enrolled learner you would be expected to keep up to your deadlines.
Can I complete more than one course?
You are more than welcome to complete as many courses as you would like to, the only limitation is that the courses would have to be completed one after the other, as the funding will not allow for you to be enrolled on more than one funded course at a time.
What will I receive at the end of my course?
Upon completion you will receive a Level 2 Certificate awarded by TQUK, NCFE or CACHE. The awarding body will depend on your course choice and training provider, however all three of the above awarding bodies are nationally recognised. The certificate usually takes around 6-8 weeks to arrive once you’ve completed your course.
What if I don’t complete my course?
There is a non-starter/early withdrawal fee that can go up to £130 if a learner was to not complete their course without good reason. This is entirely dependent on our training providers, and is there to ensure that learners are committed to completing their courses as this prevents the funding money going to waste.
Our training providers are empathetic and will withdraw a learner at no charge in the case of circumstances that would understandably prohibit a learner from completing. They also can offer extensions on deadlines at a learner’s request to support you to complete.
Who are your training providers?
At We Find Any Learner, we work with a wide variety of reputable training providers across the UK to cover as many funding areas and courses as possible. You’ll be placed with a college or training provider depending on your home residency and your course choice, and your training provider will deliver your course, provide tutoring and support, and will issue you your certificate. If you would be interested in using us as a Learner Find service, please email our director Nick at nick@wefindanylearner.co.uk.
Can I complete the course on my mobile or iPad/tablet?
We recommend using a laptop or desktop computer to complete your course, as oftentimes the learning platforms are not compatible with mobile devices and iPad/tablet users may find it difficult to answer the questions if there is not an attached keyboard. There have been instances where learners have completed on a mobile or iPad/tablet with no issues however we cannot guarantee this would be the same for every learner and would always recommend a laptop or desktop computer instead.
What is the difference between registering interest and enrolling?
Registering interest is the first step to enrolling on your course, we’ll take a few details at this stage to allow us to match you with an appropriate training provider. Once you’ve been matched with a provider, our team will be back in touch with further information about your course and provider and to provide you with a unique enrolment link. It’s then up to you to complete your full enrolment, you won’t
be fully enrolled until this has been received by your training provider. There’s no obligation at the register interest stage, however once you have submitted your signature after completing your full enrolment please see yourself as fully enrolled.
Completing your full enrolment is confirmation that you’re ready to start your course, so we recommend completing this only when you are ready to begin and keep up to your deadlines. The enrolment form will take around 10 minutes to complete.
Who can I contact if I have problems during my course?
You’ll be fully supported throughout your course by your assigned tutor and training providers. Your tutor will be available to support you at times when you need them, and they’ll also provide feedback on your coursework. Whilst you may enrol via We Find Any Learner, we’ll also be there to support you throughout the entirety of your course and we can contact your provider on your behalf.
Funding/Enrolment related FAQs
Are the courses free, and what does fully funded mean?
Our courses are 100% free of charge for eligible learners to complete. These courses are funded by the government’s Adult Skills Fund, a pot of money set aside to specifically to offer training and up-skilling to adults living in the UK. This means that as long as you fit the eligibility criteria, you’ll be eligible for this funding and our courses will be available at no cost.
What is the eligibility criteria and how will you know if I am eligible?
The eligibility restrictions are set in place by the government funding used for our courses, and these must be verified at the point of enrolment. To be eligible for our courses, you just need to meet all of the following requirements:
- You must be aged 19 or over as of 31st August 2024
- You must currently reside in England and have lived in the UK for the past 3 years (or be able to evidence that you are entitled to public funds)
- You must not be currently enrolled on another government funded course or apprenticeship
- If you are aged between 19-23, you must have gained a full Level 2 qualification prior to enrolling (this is not applicable to those aged 24 and up)
I’m not eligible for funding and would like to pay for my course, how can I do this?
Sadly we do not handle any payments for courses at We Find Any Learner, however if you’d like to contact our team on 01226 958 888 or email us at contact@wefindanylearner.co.uk we will be able to give you the details of our training providers that are able to accept payments.
Does my employment status or income matter?
Your employment status and income won’t make a difference at all to your eligibility. Whether you’re working full or part time, self employed, unemployed or retired- you’ll be eligible! When you come to complete a full enrolment you may be asked to upload a previous wage slip, as you’ll be classed as a “full funded” or “co-funded” learner depending on your earnings but whichever one you are, the course is entirely free. Every learner is enrolled as “co-funded” by default (this still means your course will be free for you), unless there is appropriate evidence (payslip/proof of benefits) provided to show a learner earns under a certain amount, in which case “full funding” is applied.
Can I enrol if I have a higher level qualification?
There’s no such thing as being “overqualified” for our courses! Your level of prior attainment will only affect your eligibility under two circumstances: that if you’re aged between 19-23 you will need to have achieved a previous full Level 2 qualification, and that you haven’t studied the course you’re enrolling onto before.
I’m a university student, does this count as me being enrolled on a funded course?
In the majority of cases, university students will be repaying loan/tuition fees, therefore this doesn’t count as claiming government funding and you’d be more than welcome to enrol onto our courses. If you’re on a particular scheme where you wouldn’t be paying for university tuition, this could clash with our funding and we recommend contacting our team with the course details for us to advise further.
As the courses are government funded, are the spaces on the course subject to availability?
As with all government funding, the funding for our courses are subject to availability. This availability depends on our providers’ capacity for individual courses and the spaces available in different regions of the UK, as devolved regions have more limited funding set aside and spaces fill up faster in these areas.
Nine times out of ten we’ll be able to offer you a place on course immediately, however if the above circumstances would affect your enrolment we will be in touch to advise.
Can I enrol with my work address?
We sadly cannot enrol applicants under work/commercial addresses. This is due to government funding rules, all enrolment information must be your own in order for funding to be claimed for you, and any discrepancies within your enrolment would cause this to be rejected. Funding for an individual cannot be claimed through addresses that the individual does not currently reside at, and this would flag up at the point of your provider claiming funding.
I’m concerned about the information required to enrol. Why is this necessary?
The type of information required can take learners by surprise when they come to enrol and we completely understand this. We’ll require your National Insurance number as this is what will be used to grant your funding for your course (in other words, what makes it free for you!) and also to access your Individual Learner Record and verify your eligibility. We’ll also require a form of ID from yourself, both to confirm that you’re aged 19 or over as of 31st August 2024, and to match against your National Insurance number. Please don’t hesitate to contact our team for further information on this- we know it’s a lot to ask to upload personal information to an (unfamiliar!) website so we’d be more than happy to help clear up any concerns!
